Psychological slavery

…a violation of the heart

Commentary

Art affects us on a profound personal level and seems to have the power to illuminate things that are important or even vital to us. SHARE LV uses Arts and Humanities as a vehicle for a deeper comprehension of complicated life situations.

Today we gain inspiration from Aeschylus’s Oresteia.

Through the extract above, our aim is to give a meaningful definition of (psychological) freedom or slavery. How does it help us clarify the abstract notion of what freedom or slavery may be? Then we could think more on the subject.

How important freedom is in our life regarding personal fulfillment and happiness? Do we accept rules, in violence to our heart and if yes, why? How can we balance personal freedom, social and family life? How do we express our needs and feelings to others and how much do we really take care of ourselves and our hearts? How our decisions on the subject are related to our self-worth? And many more questions that we have to carefully clarify first before we make decisions for our lives and take action.

SHARE LV is an information and advice community on human behavior, interaction, and communication. SHARE’S LV goal is to stress important aspects of human functioning, motives, and development, and to help people gain better insight regarding their inner self, their behavior and the world around them.

    Hi Tota,
Yes, I think that Aeschylus is a great poet because he is able to describe in depth such abstract and multilayer concepts using just a few words.
